Steamed ground pork is a straightforward dish made from ground pork and preserved vegetables, all steamed to perfection. The mixture is typically seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, and green onions, and sometimes, bits of salted fish are added for extra depth.

There are two types of fermented vegetables often used to make pork patty in Chinese dish. Another type is with sour vegetables. It is usually wet and the color is greenish.

Steaming helps retain the nutrients, flavors, and moisture of the meat, forming a patty in the bowl as it cooks.

Ground Pork – You can get ground pork from grocery store. Make sure the meat is from the shoulder part of the pig because it has more fat in it. The fat is enough to make the pork juicy and bouncy.

Fermented Vegetables – Be careful in using fermented vegetables. They are salty, so do not use too much of it. This one is the dried version of preserved vegetables. There is another version of fermented vegetables, which is wet. The color is different and it has sour flavor.
